Thank you!
The arts council was recently surprised with an unsolicited donation by Carol
Griffith from Cicero, IN on behalf of her mother who recently passed. Carol
donated a used kiln and an assortment of procelain books and supplies and the
arts council plans to utilize these in future workshops.
If anyone has experience working on kilns, the arts council would appreciate
your services to ensure the kiln is ready for use!

In Memory of Dick Hubbell
In March of 2010 the Piqua Arts Council was approached by The Dunn family who
wished to honor the loss of their family member and artist, Richard “Dick”
Hubbell. The family asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be
made to the Piqua Arts Council to commemorate Mr. Hubbell’s lifelong passion for
the arts. The arts council utilized these unexpected donations to purchase a
museum hanging system for our art gallery and necessary furniture for the
office. Many thanks to the Dunn Family and their loved ones, and our sincerest
condolences to all of them. It is clear Mr. Hubbell was a talented artist and
loving man and is missed by many.
The arts council plans to honor Mr. Hubbell by hosting an exhibition of a
portion of his art collection in the very near future. Please watch the Piqua
Daily Call and our website for more information.
Note written by Mr. Hubbell’s loving companion
to the arts council on what would have been Dick’s 88th birthday
August 10, 2010
Today would have been Richard P. Hubbell's 88th birthday. He and I were friends
for more than 50 years and I remain a friend of his family although my age and
health keep me from traveling. Dick was an artist, interior decorator, technical
publisher, illustrator, editor, manager, and world traveler. Thanks to Anita
Dunn for bringing him to your attention. He was well known in Sacremento, CA and
has many friends there.
He is missed by many especially me. I watched Anita and her sister, Cheryl
Creager, grow up (and their children).
Best wishes to the Piqua Arts Council,
Almetta Bain, Sacremento, CA
